As the DV High-Risk Victim Services Coordinator, you’ll lead a dedicated team, providing supervision and training to ensure staff are fully equipped to support high-risk victims of domestic violence. You’ll collaborate with victim services staff on active cases, stay informed on emerging trends and legal developments, and play a pivotal role in empowering survivors and promoting safety in our community. Primary Responsibilities:
- Directly supervises the DVHRT case manager and DVHRT advocate, which includes: training, coaching, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees together with the Sr. Director and People Services.
- Work with Client Services staff to coordinate services and advocacy for clients who are on the high-risk caseload for residential and non-residential services.
- Provides crisis intervention, case management, and referrals to counseling services to clients in need of services which include, but are not limited to, crisis counseling, providing information and referrals, advocacy, and safety planning.
- Assesses the needs of each victim and conducts home visits with the Dallas Police Department.
- Receives daily list from Dallas Police Department with high-risk referrals. Contact all Tier 1 clients within 24 hours. Maintain communication with Dallas Police Department High Risk Detectives regarding all high-risk cases.
- Reviews all high-risk clients during weekly 1:1 meeting with Sr. Director.
- Work collaboratively with DVHRT Systems group and its participants
- Plans and facilitates meetings with Domestic Violence High Risk Team case review members (TFP- DVHRT, TFP- Batterers Intervention and Prevention Program, Genesis Shelter and Support).
- Conducts weekly support groups for Tier 1 clients.
- Conduct individual meetings with staff members on a weekly basis.
- Conduct weekly staff meetings with DVHRT staff and DVHRT counselor.
- Acts as a Subject Matter Expert on DV and related topics, including providing training and participating in speaking engagements.
- Prepares and provides timely progress reports and statistical information required by The Family Place referral agencies and funding sources.
- Assists in providing data and/or statistical information required for reporting and outcomes.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
- At least 2-3 years of experience in the court system working with victims of domestic violence.
- Master’s Degree preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of the dynamics of domestic violence.
- Knowledge of best practices in domestic violence.
- Knowledge of the Dallas County criminal courts.
- Skilled in working with others to convey information effectively.
- Skilled in building rapport with victims of violence and trauma.
- Skilled in managing stressful situations (redirection, escalating, grounding techniques)
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and plan effectively.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills and organization skills.
- Possess adequate personal health, social maturity, and emotional stability to fulfill job functions.
- Possess dependable transportation and liability insurance coverage.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook) and data management environments.
Required Licenses and Certifications:
- Valid Texas Driver’s License and clear driving record
Working Environment:
- Duties are primarily performed seated, with occasional periods of standing or walking.
- Limited physical effort is required, such as lifting and carrying objects weighing less than 25 lbs.
- Work must be performed at the office to ensure client confidentiality.
- Work is typically conducted in an office environment.
- Must have the ability to work some weekends and evening hours for special projects.
