Description

Summary:
The Family Place is seeking a dedicated
and experienced IT Technician to join our team. The IT Technician will be responsible for providing technical support to staff, setting up equipment for new hires, and ensuring seamless connectivity across the organization. This role is crucial in maintaining our technological infrastructure, which supports our mission to empower victims of domestic violence. The ideal candidate will have a passion for technology and a commitment to making a difference in the community.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide timely technical support to staff for hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
  • Work closely with IT Director to diagnose and resolve network connectivity problems, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and resolving issues related to desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
  • Work closely with IT Director on email accounts, user profiles, and access permissions for new hires.
  • Maintain accurate records of hardware inventory at all sites.
  • Document support requests, resolutions, and maintain knowledge base articles for common issues.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures regarding IT usage.
  • Provide basic training to staff on the use of hardware, software, and security protocols.
  • Support IT Director to create user guides and instructional materials as needed.
  • Promote best practices in IT security and data protection among staff members.
  • Work closely with other departments to understand and address their technology needs.
  • Communicate effectively with non-technical staff to explain technical issues and solutions.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to IT projects and initiatives.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications


Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in IT support or a similar role.
  • Experience with network systems, hardware setup, and troubleshooting.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in Windows and Mac operating systems.
  • Strong knowledge of networking protocols, hardware, and software applications.
  • Familiarity with setting up and managing user accounts in Active Directory or similar systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of professionalism and customer service orientation.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and data security.

 

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Valid Texas Driver’s License and a clear driving record.

Preferred:

  • CompTIA A , Network , or Security certification.
  • Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) or other relevant IT certifications.

 

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds.
  • May require standing, bending, and reaching for extended periods.
  • Work is performed in an office environment with some travel between sites as needed.
  • Availability to work occasional evenings or weekends for system maintenance or emergencies.
