What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parent Partner position at The Family Resource Center?

We are seeking a Parent Partner to work with families involved with the Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) to provide peer support, advocacy, and resources to help them navigate the child welfare system and recovery.
As a Parent Partner, you will have the opportunity to use your lived experience through recovery from substance use disorder and involvement with DCYF to help families identify their strengths and needs and develop individualized plans to achieve their goals. You will collaborate with child welfare professionals and community partners, attend meetings and appointments, provide parenting education and support, and maintain accurate documentation of client interactions and progress.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Lived experience through recovery from substance use disorder and involvement with DCYF preferred
- Certification as a Recovery Support Worker preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrated commitment to helping families navigate the child welfare system
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and ethical standards in accordance with agency policies and procedures
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and car insurance required
