The mission of The Family Support Center Crisis Nurseries is preventing child abuse, reducing parental stress, and promoting healthy child growth and development. The Family Support Center’s Crisis Nurseries provide free childcare for children up to 12 years of age. All parents/guardians with emergencies, in crisis, or under extreme stress, can use our services. Each nursery is staffed with trained professionals and compassionate volunteers, providing a warm, safe environment for each child.
Position Title: Crisis Nursery Staff
Position Description: Responsible for ensuring a safe, clean and enriching environment for children and families using the crisis nurseries, while also supporting the mission of the Family Support Center and the communities served.
Reports To: Program Director
Hours: FT-40 hrs / Week with required participation in the on-call rotating schedule. Shifts of 8 hours mornings, days and early evenings.
Compensation: $16 - $20 / hour DOE

- Sugar House Crisis Nursery, 2020 Lake Street (740 East), Salt Lake City, Utah 84105, and
- West Valley City Crisis Nursery, 3663 South 3600 West, West Valley City, Utah 84119
Requirements:
- 18 Years of Age
- Department of Human Services Background Check
- CPR & First Aid Certification (Training Provided Upon Hire)
- Food Handlers Permit (Training Provided Upon Hire)
Duties:
- Supports families during times of crisis or high-stress, while ensuring client confidentiality
- Maintains staff to client ratio
- Prepares meals and snacks following our food program guidelines, cleans kitchen after meals, completes accurate food logs
- Helps maintain weekly grocery lists based on menu plans, maintains rotation of food storage
- Maintains diaper / formula inventory
- Assists Manager and other staff with overall cleanliness, organization, and function of the nursery, including end of shift cleaning and documentation
- Ensures children are in a safe and tidy environment, positively interacts and plays with children, while providing positive redirection when needed
- Documents each child’s visit, including client files, progress notes, incident reports
- Provides age-appropriate care and activities for each child, prepares lesson plans
- Answers phones and schedules crisis nursery visits as needed
- Attends all required trainings and meetings
- Assists new clients with paperwork, assembles new client files as needed
- Is included on the monthly on-call schedule
- Other duties as assigned.

- Ability to climb stairs and perform physical tasks such as cleaning, lifting small children.

- Ability to maintain detailed records and confidential information
