Here, you will grow your career and help create access to fair, affordable housing finance.As a valued colleague on our team, you will contribute to designing and implementing all aspects of Fannie Mae's media and public relations policies, objectives, and initiatives.THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKEThe Sr. Public Relations Associate (Flex Hybrid) role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities : Work to expand external understanding and reach of the organization's business, performance, and strategy, and of the Economic & Strategic Research (ESR) Group’s housing research and insights.Manage media relations, announcements, editorial placement, and speaking opportunities.Evaluate and authorize all forms of communication regarding Fannie Mae for release to the public, with a particular focus on economic and financial communications.Draft clear, concise messaging and assorted communications, including press releases and supporting materials for internal and external distribution.Provide diligent editorial support for external-facing economic and housing research materials, including identifying and refining key messaging and takeaways for target audiences.Help manage media inquiries and engagements with national and trade media, including facilitating interviews with Fannie Mae spokespeople.Prepare summaries of media activity for key stakeholders.THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAMMinimum Required Experiences2 years of related experience drafting and editing technical content to make it accessible to a broad range of audiences.Skilled in presenting complex information and / or ideas to an audience in a way that is engaging and easy to understand.Demonstrated understanding of foundational modern economic and financial concepts and themes, with ability to articulate viewpoints on key messaging to executive leadership.Desired ExperiencesBachelor degree or equivalent in English, Journalism, and / or Communications.Significant coursework or experience in economics and finance strongly preferred.Experience working with print or broadcast media.SkillsSkilled in creating visual concepts, creating content, and editing content by hand or with the help of computer software to communicate ideas.The group of skills related to Influencing including negotiating, persuading others, facilitating meetings, and resolving conflict.Adept at managing project plans, resources, and people to ensure successful project completion.Skilled in presenting information and / or ideas to an audience in a way that is engaging and easy to understand.The group of skills related to Business Resilience including managing crisis events, assessing business impact, and planning and managing business continuity.The group of skills related to Information Retrieval including fact gathering, conducting focus groups and interviews, designing surveys, etc.Skilled in documentation and database reporting for the purposes of analysis, data discovery, and decision-making with the use of relevant software such as Crystal Reports, Excel, or SSRS.The group of skills related to Sales, Marketing, and PR including marketing products, social media marketing, creating collateral, planning and developing campaigns, managing the media, etc.Experience in the process of analyzing data to identify trends or relationships to inform conclusions about the data.The group of skills related to Governance and Compliance including creating policies, evaluating compliance, conducting internal investigations, developing data governance, etc.The group of skills related to Relationship Management including managing and engaging stakeholders, customers, and vendors, building relationship networks, contracting, etc.Working with people with different functional expertise respectfully and cooperatively to work toward a common goal.The group of skills related to Communication including communicating in writing or verbally, copywriting, planning and distributing communication, etc.The group of skills related to Business Insight including advising, designing business models, interpreting customer and market insights, forecasting, benchmarking, etc.ToolsSkilled in Workiva Wdesk for reporting and compliance.Experience using PublicRelay.Experience using Cision.Experience using SharePoint.Skilled in Excel.Skilled in using Adobe Acrobat including Adobe Pro, Acrobat Reader, Acrobat, and Acrobat.com.Skilled in Dynamic Signal.Skilled in Box Software.Experience using scheduling software to book events.Skilled in Factiva for gathering BI and research.Fannie Mae is a flexible hybrid company.
