Fulfillment Lead
This role is a crucial pillar of the Farm on Central that helps us track what our customer orders, manage inventory, and lead the team who harvests, processes, sells and packs our products. Understanding systems and processes, food handling, and farm production are necessary.This position is located at our Carlisle, OH location- up to 15% may be done remotely.

About the Farm
The Farm in the City
The Farm On Central is an 8-acre startup urban farm located in Southwest Ohio. We produce vegetables, flowers, mushrooms, fruits, horticulture greenhouse products, and value-added products. We have a heavy emphasis on community with lots of farm activities and events including our annual strawberry picking. The Farm On Central is also an educational center and trial farm with its sister company Growing Farmers being located onsite.
The farm grows for our year-round on-farm retail store located on a busy road, Farm Food Membership, home delivery service, and wholesale to Grocery stores.
We believe that farming can be regenerative and profitable and that setting up your team for success with the right tools, systems, and processes will pay off in great efficiency, worker morale, and true sustainability. We believe that amazing food can be minimally prepared and be delicious and that if our community had access to high-quality, farm-fresh food, it would change the trajectory of our community's health. Responsibilities
Office and administrative (15%)
- Help maintain our active inventory in our POS and CSA management system
- Collate wholesale and retail orders and make harvest lists
- Help set CSA share contents with CSA Associate and Farm team
- Keep documentation up to date
- Backup shipping department as needed
- Maintain weekly inventory of supplies
- Give feedback to farm manager and owners on how they can improve systems, profitability, and management.
PackHouse responsibilities (55%)
- Keep packhouse area to SOP standards of cleanliness, organization, and systemization
- Manage team processing and bagging incoming product and flow moving through area
- Give feedback to team members on efficiency and help them problem solve issues
- Keep records and give insight to farm team
- Organize coolers and product storage spaces for efficiency and ease of access
Harvest and Field duties (20%)
- Lead team on harvest days balancing harvest efficiency and product quality
- Train new team members on the specifics of harvest technique, bunch size, and product quality
- Give feedback to the harvest team about quality, effectiveness, and efficiency.
- Fill in with the field crew when other tasks are completed.
Retail Store (10%)
- Be able to open and close the farm store if needed
- Occasionally help customers with questions and comments.
- Stock and refresh the store shelves when needed..
Compensation
Compensation package:
- $18-22/hour based on experience for 30-45 hr/week average (seasonal variability)
