Grounds manager

Job Summary
The Grounds Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and care of landscaped areas, ensuring that all groundskeeping activities are performed to the highest standards. This role involves supervising a team of groundskeepers, coordinating landscaping projects, and maintaining the aesthetic appeal and health of gardens, lawns, and trees. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for outdoor maintenance.

Duties

• Supervise and manage groundskeeping staff to ensure efficient operations and high-quality work.
• Oversee lawn care activities, including mowing, fertilizing, aerating, and pest control.
• Plan and implement landscape maintenance programs that promote healthy growth of plants and trees.
• Manage irrigation systems to ensure proper watering schedules and techniques are utilized.
• Coordinate tree care activities, including pruning, planting, and removal as necessary.
• Maintain garden areas by planting flowers, shrubs, and other vegetation according to design plans.
• Conduct regular inspections of grounds to identify maintenance needs and address any issues promptly.
• Build relationships with vendors for supplies related to landscaping and grounds maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices in all groundskeeping operations.

Requirements

• Proven experience in groundskeeping or landscape maintenance is essential.
• Strong knowledge of lawn care techniques, garden management, tree care practices, and irrigation systems.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience in supervising teams effectively.
• Ability to build effective working relationships with staff and stakeholders.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining landscapes.
• Physical stamina to perform manual labor tasks outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Strong problem-solving skills to address challenges that arise in grounds maintenance.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Temporary

Pay: $11.00 - $12.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week

• 4 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Evening shift
• Morning shift
