DITCHRIDER POSITION

Compensation: $18 to $30 per hour DOE

The Farmers Reservoir and Irrigation Company (FRICO) is a mutual ditch company that was incorporated in 1902. It has over 8,000 shares in 500 separate shareholder accounts. FRICO's business office is in Brighton, Colorado. The FRICO system consists of four major and several smaller reservoirs and approximately 400 miles of canals extending from the Front Range foothills to east of Greeley, Colorado. FRICO also manages three associated ditch and reservoir company systems. FRICO provides the major storage for the municipal needs of 300,000 citizens of four municipalities in the northwest Denver area. FRICO's other reservoirs remain predominantly in agricultural use.

FRICO is seeking a Full-Time Ditchrider. The position, in addition to hourly wages, includes company housing.

Skills and Knowledge:

* CDL preferred but not required.

* Good work ethic and the ability to work well with others.

* Fast learner.

* Strong communication skills.

* Preferred experience operating heavy equipment (Excavators, Bulldozers, Road Graders, Front End Loaders, Skid Loaders, etc.)

* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)

Duties include but are not limited to:

*Accurately measures amount of water delivered and adjusts headgates accordingly.

*Takes water calls daily and notifies users of changes in type of water being delivered, as well as monitors account balances.

*Responds to emergency calls as needed.

*Brings ditch online, monitors and maintains ditch

*Repairing headgates, measurement devices and culverts as needed.

*Maintenance to ditch roads and accesses.

*Welding and fabricating.

*Safely and efficiently operating all equipment within the company.

*Maintains a hard copy record of all water delivered.

*Keeps water books program updated daily.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

*A valid driver's license and clean driving record.
*Must be a U.S. citizen or possess a permanent work visa.

The hourly range for this position is depending on experience and qualifications. The selected candidate will receive company housing in addition to the hourly wages. The selected applicant will be subject to a background investigation and drug test. Excellent benefit package including vacation, holidays, health benefits, and IRA is available to the successful candidate.
