MAINTENANCE POSITION

Compensation: $20 to $32 per hour DOE

The Farmers Reservoir and Irrigation Company (FRICO) is a mutual ditch company that was incorporated in 1902. It has over 8,000 shares in 500 separate shareholder accounts. FRICO's business office is in Brighton, Colorado. The FRICO system consists of four major and several smaller reservoirs and approximately 400 miles of canals extending from the Front Range foothills to east of Greeley, Colorado. FRICO also manages three associated ditch and reservoir company systems. FRICO provides the major storage for the municipal needs of 300,000 citizens of four municipalities in the northwest Denver area. FRICO's other reservoirs remain predominantly in agricultural use.

FRICO is seeking a Full-Time Maintenance Employee in the Brighton and surrounding area. This position will be part of a crew that performs varying tasks including operating heavy equipment (track hoe, bulldozer, road grader, loader, skid loader, etc.), driving trucks (tandem axel, side dump, end dump, etc.) and operating tractors with various implements used in the operation of a large water delivery system. Additional tasks that are occasionally assigned are tree removal, welding and fabrication, concrete forming and pouring, fence removal and installation and filling in for coworkers responsible for water deliveries to stockholders.

Skills and Knowledge:

*CDL preferred but not required. Within 6 months of hire date, employees are required to obtain a CDL. FRICO will reimburse successful drivers for reasonable cost of obtaining CDL.

*Good work ethic and the ability to work well with others. This position is part of a team, ability to receive direction and constructive criticism is a must.

*Fast learner. FRICO is a unique company in a niche market, we are excited to teach new staff how we need things done.

*Strong communication skills.

Duties include but are not limited to:

*Bringing ditches online and maintaining ditches and reservoirs throughout the year using equipment and trucks.

*Repairing headgates, measurement devices and culverts as needed.

*Maintenance to ditch roads and access points.

*Welding and fabricating.

*Safely and efficiently operating all equipment within the company.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

*A valid driver's license and clean driving record.

*Must be a U.S. citizen or possess a permanent work visa.

*Significant experience operating heavy equipment (Excavators, Bulldozers, Road Graders, Front End Loaders, Skid Loaders, etc.) is preferred.

The hourly range for this position is depending on experience and qualifications. The selected applicant will be subject to and must pass a background investigation and drug test.
