What are the responsibilities and job description for the Multiple Teller I position at The Farmers State Bank and Trust Company?
CHARACTERISTICS OF THE JOB:
This is the normal "point of contact" for the majority of customers in their day-to-day transactions at the Bank. In addition to handling such transactions efficiently and tactfully, the teller is accountable for protecting the Bank's interests through adequate identification and the assurance of proper and full recourse on all items accepted. The job involves demonstrating interest and helpfulness in the handling of customer inquiries or problems and taking advantage of every opportunity to cross sell. This position requires more than one year experience as a Multiple Teller I or related experience. This person is generally cross trained to perform multiple duties related to the Teller area. Also trains and cross trains current and new personnel.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
1. Accepts, proves cash, and processes deposits of all types to established accounts.
2. Processes customer’s transactions according to Bank policy.
3. Processes mail and night deposit envelopes and bags.
4. Issues Official Checks.
5. Receives and processes payments on all loan products.
6. Counts, proves, and packages currency and coin.
7. Sells additional Bank services, recognizes and develops opportunities to refer prospects to others who are better informed to give detailed information.
8. Reconcile cash drawer daily.
9. Performs a range of related duties and assists other Tellers when possible.
10. Operates and reconciles coin machine.
11. Processes real estate tax payments.
12. Opens and closes vaults with Bank Officer.
13. Accepts Safe Deposit box rental fees.
14. Performs other duties as may be assigned or required.
Requirements:
SPECIALIZED KNOW-HOW ESSENTIAL TO JOB PERFORMANCE:
1. Must be able to deal effectively and tactfully with all types of customers and other Bank personnel.
2. Must have an aptitude for figures.
3. Ability to operate office equipment including copier, typewriter, adding machine, etc. Must have ability to comprehend and use personal computer.
4. Must have the knowledge of negotiability of instruments as applied to items presented for cash or deposit.
5. Must be familiar with all Bank services offered.
6. Must be familiar with Bank policies and procedures.
PHYSICAL, MENTAL, VISUAL SKILLS:
1. Mental stress varies with peak and slow periods of customer activity.
2. Visual stress may vary with computer and/or on-line workload.
3. May require working in a seated or standing position for continuous periods of time.
4. Physical demands of light work exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
