Dietary Aide Lead

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dietary Aide Lead to join our team in a nursing home setting. The ideal candidate will be in charge of assisting the Dietary Manager with supporting the Dietary Aides and ensuring daily tasks and duties are completed. The Lead will assist in the preparation and serving of meals, ensuring that all dietary needs are met with care and attention. This role is essential in maintaining the health and well-being of our residents through proper nutrition and food handling practices.

Duties

• Assist in the preparation and serving of meals according to dietary guidelines and resident preferences.
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of the dietary department, including kitchen equipment and dining areas.
• Follow food safety protocols, including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices.
• Collaborate with the culinary team to maintain high standards of food production and presentation.
• Support residents during meal times, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction with their dining experience.
• Maintain accurate records of dietary needs and preferences for each resident.
• Participate in training sessions to enhance knowledge of dietary practices and regulations.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Dietary Aide or in a similar role within a nursing home or healthcare setting is preferred.
• Strong time management skills to effectively prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of food preparation techniques, culinary skills, and food production processes.
• Familiarity with dietary restrictions and nutritional guidelines is a plus.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
• Excellent communication skills to interact positively with residents, families, and staff members.
• Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
