What you'll do :
The Data Governance Lead will lead the Bank's data governance efforts and ensure that the Bank's data is high quality, well managed and defined, and able to be trusted. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent leadership and communication skills who has experience implementing data governance practices at an enterprise-wide level.
How you'll make an impact :
Preserving the integrity of the Bank's data to ensure our business users have confidence in its trustworthiness and quality.
Ensuring the creation, management, and adherence to data-related policies while implementing best practices in Data Governance.
Manage relationship and stewarding activities of business functional leads, data owners, and data stewards
What you can expect :
Refine and implement the Bank's data governance strategy
Own and maintain the Bank's data governance and data privacy frameworks, policies, and standards
Define and enforce data quality rules and standards across the organization
Develop and monitor data quality metrics
Chair the Bank's Data Governance Council and facilitate regular meetings
Lead and coordinate data owner and steward activities across the Bank
Provide guidance and support to data stewards in managing data assets
Oversee the development and maintenance of a data catalog and metadata repository within Collibra
Collaborate with stakeholders to address data governance issues and drive decision-making
Develop and deliver data governance training programs for employees
Promote data governance awareness and best practices across the organization
Monitor and report on data governance performance to senior management
Manage vendor / software provider relationships for the data governance function
Manage all staffing duties for the team including hiring / separations, performance management, staff development, and day-to-day employee related issues
What you'll bring :
Bachelors degree in Information Management, Computer Science, or similar quantitative field. Master's degree preferred.
6-8 years of data and analytics experience
Direct experience implementing enterprise-wide data governance frameworks strongly preferred
Experience with Master Data Management / Reference Data Management tools is required. Collibra experience strongly preferred.
Experience with Databricks, SQL, and Tableau strongly preferred
Strong leadership, management, and coaching skills are required
High degree of independent thinking, organization, professionalism, use of logical
reasoning, and ability to cope with interruptions and handle multiple tasks concurrently are required
Excellent interpersonal communication skills (written, oral, and listening) are required
Ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
