Cashier/Sales Associate/Customer Service

Reports To: The cashier/farm and garden specialist will report to the manager or owner.

Job Overview:
The cashier is not just a person who will ring up customers and take payments. There are many responsibilities to this position. The cashier is responsible for welcoming customers into The Feed Store, assisting with customer questions and running a cash register. The cashier is also responsible for keeping a clean store front and making sure that shelves remain clean and stocked. Duties will also include writing up deliveries, cleaning throughout the store, and much more. A successful cashier in this position is able to proactively engage with customers in a helpful and friendly manner, seek out things that need to be done, and is able to communicate well with fellow employees. The cashier often is the first and last contact a customer has with our store, so it is vitally important that our cashiers are always outgoing, friendly and helpful.

Responsibilities and Duties
· Welcome customers into The Feed Store.

· Proactively assist customers with their needs.

· Operate a Point of Sale system.

· Maintain a clean store front and register area.

· Use a two-way radio to relay customer orders to the loaders.

· Dust, face and stock shelves.

· Answer the phone.

· Assist in other areas as needed.

Qualifications
· Must have a friendly attitude.

· Previous experience operating a computer is preferred.

· Must be able to type.

· Must be able to learn quickly

-Experience with farm animals and lawn & garden is preferred

Must be able to stand for long periods of time.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $12.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
