Description
- Ensures all common areas of the community are maintained in a sanitary, orderly, and attractive condition, including corridors, common areas, service areas, restrooms, linen closets, etc. Recommend improvements to management as necessary.
- Clean, detail, and refill supplies for all assigned areas of the facility as needed, including common areas and offices.
- Ensure resident rooms, dining areas, and activity areas are cleaned as assigned, including dusting, polishing, vacuuming, mopping, changing linens, cleaning bathrooms, and eliminating odors.
- Ensure the Daily Routine for Housekeeper Staff is completed/implemented each working day (attached at end of Job Description).
- Maintain records as required to document daily housekeeping and to actively track each aspect of housekeeping, including maintenance, pests, and sanitation.
- Ensure compliance with all health codes and sanitation regulations, state regulations, and company policies.
- Assist residents, when necessary, with daily living activities in a safe and caring manner, including ambulation, incontinent care, feeding, bathroom/related hygiene assistance, and direct and indirect safety measures involved with everyday functions.
Qualifications
A high school diploma or GED is preferred. Must have compassion and a desire to serve the elderly.
Physical Requirements:
- Body Positions: Sitting, standing, squatting, kneeling
- Body Movements: Lift (at least 35 lbs with or without assistance), bend torso, reach, turn head and torso, and/or push (at least 100 lbs with or without assistance) for up to 12-hour intervals.
- Body Senses: Must have adequate use of eyes and ears; adequate power of speech.
Mental Requirements:
- Reading: Must be able to read and comprehend written instructions pertaining to the care and oversight of the residents. Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing with peers and supervisors.
- Language: Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing, well enough to give instructions, relay information, and carry on effective interchange with staff and residents.
- Social: Must be able to relate well with others and provide a non-hostile workplace as well as receive direction from peers and supervisors with a positive attitude.
