Position Overview:
The Ferris Moving Company is seeking a dependable, customer-focused, and experienced Moving Supervisor to join our team. In this role, you will lead and manage moving crews, supervise job sites, ensure smooth operations, and provide excellent customer service. Supervisors will be trained to operate box trucks and will be responsible for managing the logistics of each move, collecting payments, handling tips, and addressing any customer concerns.
Key Responsibilities:
Crew Leadership & Site Management: Supervise and manage moving crews, ensuring efficient and safe completion of all moves. Lead by example and ensure all team members are following procedures and performing their tasks effectively.
Operation of Moving Equipment & Box Trucks: Safely operate moving equipment (dollies, ramps, etc.) and drive box trucks (training provided) to transport items to and from job sites.
Customer Interaction & Issue Resolution: Communicate directly with clients to confirm move details, address concerns, and resolve complaints promptly. Ensure customer satisfaction and maintain a professional, courteous demeanor at all times.
Payment Collection & Tips Management: Collect payments from customers for services rendered, process credit card payments, and handle tips appropriately. Maintain accurate records of all transactions.
Paperwork & Documentation: Complete necessary paperwork, including job completion reports, inventory logs, and time tracking for team members. Ensure all documentation is accurate and submitted in a timely manner.
Training & Development: Assist in the training of new crew members on moving procedures, equipment usage, and company policies. Ensure all team members understand safety protocols and customer service expectations.
Safety & Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations during the move, including proper lifting techniques and secure loading/unloading of items. Maintain a safe and organized work environment at all times.
Qualifications:
Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs with assistance.
Experience in the moving industry or a related field is preferred. Training will be provided for the right candidate.
Ability to operate moving equipment and safely drive a box truck (training provided).
Excellent leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to manage difficult situations or customer complaints.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
Detail-oriented with the ability to complete paperwork accurately and on time.
Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
Ability to work weekends and evenings as needed.
Compensation & Benefits:
Hourly Pay: $20.00 per hour.
