TruVolt Brands (a subsidiary of The Fesco Group) is looking for a Product Sourcing Director to join its dynamic and growing team of top professionals that manufacture and sell Amazon 1P, DTC and B2B, state-of-the art home, garden and landscaping equipment. Think green! Think electric and battery powered snow blowers, lawnmowers, pressure washers and chainsaws. The ideal teammate is responsible for:
- Analyze the market, identify white spaces and opportunities and establish brand positioning and consumer insights
- Identify and help develop product. This requires a strong technical understanding of battery powered equipment... and heavy interaction with Vietnam & China-based manufacturers
- Develop, lead, and execute purchasing strategies with vendors in Asia (Vietnam & China)
- Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve the effectiveness
- Translate brand elements into plans and go-to-market strategies
- Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with vendor partners
- Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power
- Monitor market trends, research consumer markets, and competitors’ activities shop outs
- Be creative, shop out the category, identify opportunities for line extension
- Align the company around the brand’s direction, choices, and tactics
- Collaborate with sales and design team on packaging concepts
- Review test reports
- BS degree in engineering strongly preferred
- 5 years in "Hardgoods" consumer products sourcing, working for an OEM manufacture
- Strong familiarity with battery powered technologies, materials, sourcing and vendor management
- Product development experience a plus
- Strong analytical, negotiating, and networking skills partnered with a creative mind a must
- Data-driven thinking and an affinity for numbers
- Outstanding communication skills
- Up to date with latest trends and best practices
- Far East travel (Vietnam & China) 4-5 times per year
- After 6 pm WeChat collaboration with Vietnam and China vendors
Salary : $125,000 - $150,000
