Who would I be lifeguarding for?
- Campers and staff from Fircreek Day Camp.
- Youth and adults attending The Firs Retreat Center.
Duties
- Monitor swim areas to prevent accidents and ensure the safety of all guests.
- Enforce swimming rules and regulations to maintain a safe and enjoyable environment.
- Respond quickly and effectively to any emergencies or incidents that may occur.
- Provide excellent guest service by answering questions and assisting with inquiries.
- Perform cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure cleanliness and hygiene.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and report any issues or malfunctions.
- Administer first aid and CPR when necessary.
- Assist with heavy lifting as required for maintenance.
- Driving a ski boat pulling tubers.
Skills
- Strong swimming skills and knowledge of various swimming techniques
- Current lifeguard certification, including CPR and First Aid training
- Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and ability to enforce rules effectively
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods of time and perform rescue procedures if needed
Qualifications
- Certified Red Cross Lifeguard Training Certificate, or equivalent
- American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer, or equivalent
- American Red Cross Standard First Aid, or equivalent
Schedule
- 4-5 hour shifts available per day
- Weekday and weekend shifts June through August.
