TITLE: Credit Analyst
DEPT: Commercial Lending
REPORTS TO: Senior Credit Analyst
STATUS: Exempt
Job Summary:
This position provides support to the Commercial Lending Team through the performance of varied administrative, credit analysis, credit management, and loan structuring and servicing duties. The position requires working closely with Lending Officers and Assistants, Credit Analysts, and Credit Administration in addition to client interaction. The Credit Analyst is responsible for providing excellent customer service and ensuring that requests are handled in a professional, timely, and accurate manner while complying with policies and procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Provides credit management and administrative support to the Commercial Lending Team.
- Provides support, as requested, to Commercial Loan Officer(s) and Senior Credit Analyst in completing new loan requests, loan renewals and modifications, annual reviews, loan covenants, etc.
- In conjunction with Commercial Loan Officer(s) and Credit Analyst(s), assist in the underwriting process by gathering and reviewing documents, analyzing client needs, financial position, and creditworthiness to ensure loans meet credit and financial requirements for lending quality and compliance as determined by the Bank’s Loan Policy.
- Assists the Commercial Loan Officer(s) through support in negotiating terms, pricing, and loan financing costs, structuring repayment methods, assessing collateral requirements, based on credit risk considerations.
- Provide additional support to the Credit, Commercial Lending, and Executive Management teams by assisting in the external loan review process, internal annual loan reviews, ongoing portfolio- and loan-level stress testing, Board and Directors Loan Committee reporting, Officers Loan Committee, and the Bank’s loan policy.
- Takes initiative in problem resolution and engages others, when needed, to address inconsistencies.
- May prepare reports, invoices, memos, letters, and other documents. Conducts research and compiles data for statistical reports as needed.
- Completes necessary training to maintain compliance with laws and regulations and follows bank processes and procedures.
- Supports the bank’s strong relationship banking culture through quality customer service and superior product knowledge.
- Other duties or projects as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to cultivate long-term client relationships.
- Excellent typing, word processing, and data entry/ten-key skills.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office specifically in the use of Word and Excel. Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook and Adobe.
- Must be willing and able to learn other lending-related programs and software.
- Must be able to communicate professionally both verbally and in writing.
- Must be detail oriented, organized and remain calm under pressure. Must work well under stress and meet deadlines while managing multiple tasks.
- Must be able to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
- Must be able to take direction, work well individually and with a team while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Must demonstrate a business professional image and demeanor.
- Must be able to pass a background and credit check. Must demonstrate responsible use of personal credit.
Education and Experience:
- Progress toward a Bachelor’s degree (business, finance, accounting) with a financial/business-related background (preferred).
- Additional training as needed in the area of financial statement analysis, credit analysis, loan structuring, loan pricing, and related areas.
