General Description:
The General Teller will perform routine customer service tasks in support of the deposit function of the bank while delivering exceptional customer service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Accept deposits, loan payments, and Visa payments, verifying cash when applicable
- Process withdrawals, transfers, and cash advances
- Perform all debit card maintenance, including opening and closing cards, “hot carding” lost or stolen cards, replacing cards, raise/lower limits, and researching and disputing charges
- Answer phone calls and provide exemplary customer service
- Cash savings bonds
- Accept requests from customers for various account maintenance, including creating AFTs, ordering checks, modifying signature cards, and changing address/contact information
- Prepare cashier’s checks and money orders
- Complete IRA distribution forms
- Process night deposits; complete agreements for locking night deposit bags
- Collect rent payments and utility payments
- Balance cash in teller drawer, vault, and Quick Change machine
- Prepare stop payments and holds in accordance with bank policy and regulation
- Open and close safe deposit boxes and personal lockers, accept rent payments, and assist customers accessing their boxes
- Assist customers with signing up and using Telephone banking and Netteller; take requests for password resets
- Upon customer request, print social security verifications and direct deposit verifications, reprint statements, fax documents and complete Housing Authority account verifications
- Perform end of day duties, including locking vault and setting vault alarm
Essential Core Competencies:
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Proficient PC skills, including a working knowledge of Word and Excel
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills
- Overall willingness to learn new systems, adjust to department changes, and work as a team to complete daily assignments
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.50 - $17.00 per hour
