Job Summary:
The Loan Review Assistant will assist the Loan Review Department in monitoring and mitigating risk for The First State Bank. Additionally, the individual will aid in the maintenance of proper loan records documentation among other duties within the Credit and Risk department.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain proper loan review documentation and notate deficiencies in order to assist with the monthly review of all new and renewal loans
- Communicate, follow-up, and assist with applicable lending personnel to timely resolve deficiencies
- Maintain and correct documentation within Loan Origination Software for proper export
- Assist with external audits and exams by preparing and indexing applicable documents prior to exam date. Further assist on-site audits and exams by preparing requested documents and utilizing proper follow-up post-exam to ensure any noted deficiencies are cleared
- Collaborate with Central Loan Processing and loan tracking to update ticklers as needed
- Collaborate with internal departments such as CLP to update ticklers and Document Management to ensure documents are indexed, as/when needed
- Regularly attend Loan Committee meetings to gather updates to the Bank’s Watch List Report and observe approved loans for future loan reviews
- Maintain and update the Bank’s internal Watch List Report and furnish to applicable management, examiners, or auditors upon request
- Coordinate with all Loan Officers to ensure the Bank’s Loan Funding Spreadsheet is up-to-date for monthly reporting to Senior and Executive management
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education/Experience
- High School diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university
- preferred
- 4 years of banking experience preferred
- Previous experience with commercial and/or agricultural lending highly preferred
