What are the responsibilities and job description for the Server position at The Fish Market?
The Fish Market in Solana Beach is looking for exceptional servers to join our team!
The server must be able to masterfully provide hospitality and maintain a smile and pleasant attitude while representing The Fish Market’s standards of Uncompromised Quality and the Fish Market Philosophy.
Essential Job Duties:
- Understanding and explaining all menu items to assist guests in making decisions
- Serving guests food and drinks
- Maintaining the organization and cleanliness of the dining room
- Handling cash and using a POS system
- Providing “lateral service” to other departments as needed
Qualifications:
- 2 years of service experience in a high volume, casual dining restaurant
- Ability to learn the complete Fish Market Menu, explain ingredients, and offer suggestions
- Ability to serve alcohol
- California Food Handler’s card (or able to get one within 30 days of hire)
- Responsible Beverage Service card (or able to get one within 60 days of hire)
- Have the ability to work a flexible schedule that changes as the business changes including nights, weekends and holidays
- Be able to lift/carry products horizontally/vertically up to 30 pounds
- Be capable of standing up to 8 hours a shift
