JOB SUMMARY:
The Assistant General Manager plays a vital and supporting role in creating an environment where the values, culture, and operating standards of The Flame Broiler, Inc. can thrive. Under the direct supervision of the General Manager, the Assistant General Manager effectively communicates the vision of The Flame Broiler, Inc. brand and its systems, through the execution of effective management and efficient supervision of operational procedures. The Assistant General Manager upholds and keeps The Flame Broiler, Inc. brand at the forefront of all operations and management decisions. He/she will personify the values, culture, and the heart of Flame Broiler. The character, competence and chemistry of the Assistant General Manager is directly aligned with the company’s purpose, it’s values, and guiding principles. The Assistant General Manager understands that the values are at the core of every management decision and leadership abilities.
Competencies of the Successful Assistant General Manager:
- Assists with achieving company sales/revenue goals and operates shifts to ensure goals are reached.
- Reports store revenue to supervisors and home office support team on during assigned shifts.
- Knowledge and demonstrated ability to perform as well as communicates the Flame Broiler Shift Management 9 Touch Point Module.
- Assists with ensuring the restaurant meets the standards of all areas of the 4 Pillars of Success operational evaluation Assists and manages inventory as well as conducts monthly inventory counts as assigned by General Manager.
- Ensures cash handling procedures are properly performed.
- Responsible for the safety and security of restaurant facility during assigned shifts.
- Communicates necessary repairs of equipment, damages, and items in need of replacement to store manager and/or corporate support team.
- Achieved satisfactory certification in and demonstrated ability to perform all positions within the restaurant (i.e., cashier, prep, cook).
- Responsible for the communication, implementation, and execution of sales initiatives and promotions during assigned shifts. Follows up and reports on the progress and success of initiatives and promotions to direct supervisor.
- Maintains restaurant’s profitability through effective operations, minimizing wastes, controlling expenses and managing labor during assigned shifts.
- Identifies, troubleshoots problems, and resolves operational inefficiencies in a timely manner.
- Communicates company policies and standards to supervised team members.
- Communicates changes or occurrences during shift to incoming manager (i.e., employee call outs, issues, success, goals, revenue goals, employee performance standards, etc.)
- Executes shift handover communication to General Manager and/or Shift Lead when necessary.
Chemistry of the Successful Assistant General Manager:
- Provides shift leadership, manages procedures, assigns tasks, and monitors job performance for all supervised team members.
- Evaluates and provides feedback on the performance of supervised team members.
- Successfully completes the company approved Train-The-Trainer certification course.
- Directly responsible for delivering training to all supervised team members and oversees the training department in assigned location.
- Certifies the training and job competency of newly hired and/or promoted team members.
- Follows up with trainees during shift review and evaluates progress of team members in training.
- Assists with ensuring that team members are accountable for knowing and understanding company standards and policies.
- Upholds and assists with the enforcement of company standards and policies through effective leadership.
- Follows company guidelines concerning recommendations of team members for promotions.
- Ability to coach supervised team members for performance improvement.
- Possesses the ability and skills to resolve conflicts patiently and professionally.
- Quickly handles and resolves guest complaints when necessary during assigned shift.
- Assists with documenting employee attendance and punctuality records.
- Ensures cash handling procedures are adhered to and enforced during shift.
- Communicates and ensures restaurant team members abide by and adheres to company injury illness prevention safety program.
- Under the guidance of direct supervisor and People Operations, administers progressive discipline policy.
