Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Front of House Manager to oversee the daily operations of The Float House. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in hospitality and customer service, ensuring that guests receive an exceptional experience. This role requires effective leadership skills and the ability to manage a team in a fast-paced environment. We are a seasonal restaurant in the summer, but we have paired with Schweitzer for the winters and go up to work at Chimney Rock when the snow flies. This job will be starting the beginning of April.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate front-of-house staff, including servers, hosts, and bartenders, to ensure efficient service.
- Manage guest relations by addressing inquiries, resolving complaints, and ensuring overall satisfaction.
- Oversee the scheduling of staff shifts and maintain appropriate staffing levels during peak hours.
- Assist in budgeting and financial planning to optimize operational efficiency.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area, bar, and reception areas.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely food delivery and quality service during banquets or special events.
- Train new employees on service standards, menu knowledge, and company policies.
- Monitor inventory levels for supplies and equipment; place orders as necessary.
Skills
- Proven experience in a managerial role within the restaurant or hospitality industry.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on guest satisfaction.
- Knowledge of budgeting processes and financial management within a hospitality context.
- Bartending experience is a plus, 2 years of serving experience.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with staff and guests alike.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
