What are the responsibilities and job description for the Milieu Therapist Mental Health position at The Florida House?
The Milieu Therapist is part of the Florida House Experience Mental Health Program. The purpose of the Milieu Therapist is to ensure the smooth operation of the inpatient unit, develop rapport offer support to patients and families as needed, and be a resource for staff in the evening
Schedule : Sunday through Thursday 8 : 30 AM to 5 : 00 PM

Required qualifications :
Graduate from an accredited college or university in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling , or mental health-related field, required
Master's Degree in a mental health / behavioral health field, preferred.
LCSW, LMHC. Or licensed Psychologist preferred
Previous work in a treatment environment with substance abuse / mental health disorders
preferred.
2 years post-licensure preferred
Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) Training or must be obtained
Duties and Responsibilities
Develops rapport with patients on the unit, and handles questions / issues and problem solves
Assists therapists with visits, follow-ups, and interventions as directed
Assists the unit with tasks as directed
Helps orient new patients and conducts family calls, as needed
Conducts mental health check-ins (If licensed)
Conducts some group time in the residential locations
Assists with interventions and AMA blocks, as needed
Obtains required information for documentation, records, or other needs, as directed.
Maintains documentation according to facility standards
