Lifeguard (Seasonal)

LIFEGUARD

Responsible for executing daily pool operations, including, but not limited to, working as a team with lifeguarding staff; maintaining the facility; performing lifeguarding duties.

• Respond to patron inquiries and concerns

• Ensures the general care and cleaning of the facility and the maintenance and minor repair of equipment;
• Inspects the facility on a daily schedule and reports any unsafe conditions in equipment to the Clubhouse manager immediately
• Reports and information regarding daily weather conditions and incidents or accidents

• Performs Lifeguard duties
• Carries out additional duties as assigned by the Clubhouse manager.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Thorough knowledge and application of lifeguarding/rescue techniques; ability to perform lifeguarding duties; knowledge of the principles and practices of club rules, policies and procedures; leadership qualities and member relations skills; excellent physical condition. Must be able to frequently lift 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds, able to stand and walk for long periods of time and able to kneel and stoop repeatedly.
Must be able to work various schedules including nights, weekends, and major holidays.

ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:Must have a minimum of one season, or six months of lifeguarding experience, supervisory experience preferred; completion of the American Red Cross Lifeguard Training, Water Safety Instructor, CPR and Standard First Aid, or equivalent, is required.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Provide photocopies of current certificates; wear staff uniform while on duty; maintain a professional work standard and image; work the entire swim season.
This is a part-time seasonal position from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
40 hours of work per week are not guaranteed.
