About our Brand: Our first café opened for breakfast at about 7am one morning in 1993. Settled in a quiet neighborhood called Candler Park on the east side of Atlanta, we sold out of our signature biscuits by 11am that day.

More than 30 years later, we are an institution growing to 29 locations throughout Georgia, North Carolina, Florida and Texas. But we always kept that quintessential neighborhood spirit and focused on our Southern-inspired menu of comfort food made with fresh ingredients.

Though were famous for our grits and biscuits (we bake almost 5,000 biscuits per week at each location), our loyal guests throughout the Southeast come join us to enjoy Breakfast, Lunch and Brunch throughout the day.

What we seek: The General Manager oversees the overall function of the restaurant and manages employees and food and beverage service activities in accordance with company guidelines regarding operating procedures, sales, profitability, and guest and employee relations. They are responsible for leading other managers and team members to build and increase sales over the previous year's sales and maintain profitability while ensuring employee and guest satisfaction.

The General Manager must perform duties in compliance with all applicable sanitation, health, alcohol service and personal hygiene standards. They are responsible for the appropriate use of restaurant supplies and equipment to minimize loss, waste, and fraud.

Duties include:

  • Collaborate with Executive Management Team to develop long-term strategic plans and growth initiatives for the restaurant
  • Identify market trends, competitive landscape, and customer preferences to drive business growth and revenue generation
  • Recruit, train, and mentor assistant managers and key team members, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and identify opportunities for professional growth and development
  • Manage P&L, payroll, and budgets to ensure financial targets are met
  • Analyze financial reports and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends, opportunities, and areas of improvement
  • Ensure exceptional customer service by setting high standards and leading by example
  • Regularly assess guest feedback and reviews, addressing any issues promptly and implementing strategies for continuous improvement
  • Monitor food quality, presentation, and consistency, working closely with the culinary team to maintain the highest standards
  • Manage the entry of vendor invoices, product check-ins, and all daily cash handling throughout the shift
  • Generate outside sales through event planning, local business outreach, special events, and other catering programs
  • Must be able to work in an environment free of direct daily supervision, must be a self-starter, organized, and multi-task oriented
  • Creates an atmosphere that allows for the respect and well-being of all teammates and guests in a safe, secure environment
  • Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary operations, programs, and material information
  • Maintains quality assurance and compliance with all regulatory requirements
  • Ensures compliance with current laws and policies to provide a work environment free from sexual harassment and all illegal and discriminatory behavior
  • Must work the hours dictated by the business and the hours. Weekend and evening work may be necessary on special events and/or holidays.
