Lead Production Operator (Exton, PA)
TFSI seeks a passionate, enthusiastic, and collaborative Production Supervisor looking to join a fast-growing company in Chester County, PA area, who is looking for an opportunity to help drive continuous improvement, establish a culture of teamwork and help drive company values & vision.
The qualified individual's primary job responsibilities will be leading the blending manufacturing team & process including pre-weigh, batching, scheduling, and warehousing. This role shall support all functions within the operations department for BlendSource, Inc. (scheduling, procurement, sales/csr, quality). The individual should have a background in food or ingredient manufacturing with training in GMPs, Safety, and Food Safety.

Position Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Plant Manager; the production lead will be responsible for safety, quality, and leadership of the manufacturing facility
Must be a strong leader, provide motivation and support for all day-to-day processes
Help drive and build the company, culture, and vision
Provide an environment of strong communication and culture; meet with supervisor/plant manager at an ongoing basis to support a culture of continuous improvement
Assist Plant manager in building a highly efficient and dependable manufacturing team for long term growth
Support capacity planning, efficiency, and lean manufacturing
Assist plant manager for following responsibilities include leading safety & production meetings on schedules and metrics; training and mentoring of personnel to achieve Safety, Quality, and Delivery of products through various product areas
Support and lead all hourly team members and directing team for processing of all batches and work orders related to food and ingredient manufacturing
Processing includes weigh materials, blending, entering data, and ensure compliance with specifications
Help train and coach all new employees
Ensure all products manufactured meet customer guidelines and BSI Food Safety/Quality guidelines
Ability to develop, and implement standard operating procedures & work instructions for the plant
Ensure compliance to all policies and procedures including: State, local, and federal regulations, GMPs, FDA and FSMA requirements, OSHA & safety regulations.
Assist in the scheduling of all orders to ensure deadlines are met
Ensure Food safety and quality sequencing is met
Communicating with Procurement & 3rd party warehouse to ensure raw materials are available
Order dates and delivery is on time (OTIF)
Review batch records and pick tickets to ensure proper lot control and labeling of materials
Handling of all incoming and outgoing shipments
Ensure all batches meet quality and batch specifications
Help establish a food safety and safety culture… See Something, Say Something
Zero recalls and Zero safety incidents
Provide training and guidelines for all employees for quality, safety, and operations
Help support and implement 5S and basic lean concepts
Collaborates with cross-functional departments to support operational excellence
Perform other tasks & duties regarding warehousing & food manufacturing as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities
Experience and leadership experience in blending , warehousing, or manufacturing food
Skills in basic OSHA, Food Safety (GMPs), and fast-paced manufacturing environments.
Forklift and pallet jack experience or license
Ability to operate manufacturing and inventory systems (e.g. SAP, SAGE, ORACLE, or similar)
Skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams as well as prior experience working within ERP/MRP systems
Experience And Education
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from 4-year college or university; or 4 years related experience
and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience 2 years supervising and managing in a fast-paced environment
CGMP, FDA, And/or USDA Experience Preferred
Excellent Verbal and written communication skills- Bilingual in English/Spanish a plus
Physical Requirements
Ability to operate forklift, pallet jacks, scales, blenders, manufacturing equipment
Must be able to lift 55lbs or greater
Ability to push/pull drums with the help of equipment
Must be able to stand/climb ladders
