Job purpose:
The Equestrian Facilities Attendant at The Ford Field & River Club works under the direct supervision of the Equestrian Manager and is responsible for farm/barn maintenance, the cleaning and upkeep of the Equestrian Center and other related duties. The person in this role enjoys working within a small yet fast-paced environment, exercises good judgment in a variety of situations and has strong verbal communication. Ensuring that all members and guests have a first-class experience while at our facility.
Duties and responsibilities
- Equestrian Center facilities maintenance to include but not limited to, fence repairs & pressure washing.
- General stable maintenance: Assist with general maintenance tasks such as sweeping aisles, maintaining equipment, and upkeep of barn common areas and paddocks.
- Assists with deliveries of stable supplies to include hay and shaving deliveries.
- Assist with loading and unloading materials and products.
- Perform heavy lifting and physical labor as required for barn operations.
- Utilize power tools and equipment for various tasks, including repairs and maintenance of barn structures.
- Use equipment and materials properly including the 4x4, skid steer, and tractor.
- Maintains clean and hygienic living spaces for the horses, including stalls, barn, and other designated areas.
- Stall cleaning: Thoroughly cleans and maintains the cleanliness of horse stalls, including removing bedding, waste, and debris.
- Maintains Equestrian Center facilities in a clean and safe fashion to ensure safety for all staff, members and guests.
- Assist with light pasture upkeep.
- Additional barn/property tasks as needed to support barn operations and ensure animal well-being.
Qualifications
Qualifications and Experience
- Candidates must have a flexible schedule of morning & evening shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Flexibility to handle various tasks as they arise and adapt to changing needs.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Prior experience of operating and maintaining farm tractors.
- Mechanical knowledge and aptitude for troubleshooting and repairs.
Working conditions
Works outside in all weather conditions.
Physical requirements
The job requires walking, standing, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling. Lifts 50-75 pounds. Vision must be correctable to read and write. Hearing must be sufficient to understand conversation in a noisy environment.
