Job Purpose:
The Security Officer provides security for the entrance gates of the Club as well as mobile security for all areas- grounds and buildings.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintains access rosters of personnel authorized for entry to The Ford Field & River Club.
- Maintains familiarity with personnel, vehicles, passes and decals in order to expedite traffic flow through the main entrance.
- Contacts pertinent Club personnel to verify authorization of access for non-routine visitors, vendors and contractors. Contacts a patrol officer if an escort is necessary. Issues appropriate pass to all visitors.
- Contacts the supervisor on duty in situations not covered by instructions or procedures manual.
- Maintains cleanliness of the entrance gatehouse. Maintains patrol vehicle and equipment.
- Physically inspects unoccupied buildings and facilities during non-business hours to ensure they are properly secured. Obtain detailed description of anyone in an area they are not authorized to be, notify Security office and notify law enforcement if necessary. Responds to intrusion alarms.
- Prepares a daily log including details of shift activity. Deactivates alarms and unlocks appropriate buildings at the end of each night shift in preparation for normal business days.
- Reviews Pass-On Log, Guest Log, Personnel Rosters and previous shift logs prior to each shift.
- Responds to calls for assistance, accidents, complaints and escort needs.
- Ensures that all members, guests and co-workers are treated in a friendly and respectful manner in accordance with the standards of excellence of The Ford Fiend & River Club.
- Assists other departments and performs additional related duties as required.
- Completes all other relevant job duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least two years of experience in Security or a related field.
- Good communication skills and a pleasant, professional demeanor.
- 21 years of age or older with valid driver’s license.
- Ability to exercise initiative and sound judgement to react with discretion under varying circumstances.
Working Conditions:
Frequent exposure to hot, sunny, humid, cold or rainy conditions. May work in nighttime conditions. Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Ability to work irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
Frequent lifting, bending, climbing, and stooping as well as continuous standing and walking. Employee is required to climb stairs, and push, pull or lift 50 pounds, occasionally up to 75 pounds. Vision must be correctable to read and write. Hearing must be sufficient to understand conversation on the telephone in a noisy environment. Must have hand usage to complete forms, use keyboard and mouse and other office equipment.
