Who We Are:
The Forge Hobbies & Games is a family-owned hobby shop in the Memorial area of Houston. We carry a multitude of hobby products including table top wargames, board games, paints and tools, roleplaying games, card games, and more.
Overview
We are looking for a part-time event coordinator who can run table top war game events, card game drafts/events, and other events that The Forge may host. While event coordination is the main job for this position, this coordinator would also be interacting with the community, checking out customers, and fulfilling other duties associated with our hobby shop.
Duties
- Plan, coordinate, and execute events from conception to completion, ensuring all aspects are managed effectively.
- Oversee event marketing efforts to promote events through Facebook and Discord
- Provide exceptional customer service
- Manage events day-of and answer any ruling questions
- Conduct post-event evaluations to assess success and gather feedback for future improvements.
- Build, paint, and set up terrain or models for events
- Answer any questions pertaining to rules for various events
- Interact with community members
- Other duties that involve a Hobby Shop, such as checking out customers or daily cleaning
Qualifications
- Proven experience in event planning or coordination is preferred.
- Proven experience with hobbying is preferred.
- Knowledge of MTG and Warhammer miniatures is preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple events
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on client satisfaction.
- Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Proficiency in event marketing strategies is an advantage.
- A background with hobbying can be beneficial.
