What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler/Yard Associate position at THE FORT MILLER GROUP?
Material Handler- Tymetal Corp.- Fort Edward Plant
Tymetal Corp. has an immediate opening for a Material Handler to perform material handling on day shift at our manufacturing facility in Fort Edward. The Material Handler operates a fork truck to safely load finished product onto trucks. He/she also unloads incoming tractor trailers, safely transporting raw materials and finished products in the storage yard. The Material Handler has overall responsibility for the organization of the storage yard and warehouse, ensuring that all raw materials, work in process and finished products are stored in a safe and organized manner to prevent product damage. The Material Handler will also stage orders in preparation for shipping and is responsible for general housekeeping duties. When not performing material handling and yard duties, our Material Handler will assist in the assembly of finished products and/or the preparation of hardware shipments in the shipping and receiving area.

Qualifications of the Yard Associate:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Demonstrated ability to safely operate a fork truck.
- Excellent safety record.
- Ability to work with little or no supervision.
- Ability to multi-task and work effectively with others.
- Ability to read a tape measure.
- High level of motivation and an attention to detail.
- Ability to use drill press, punch, saw, and basic hand tools.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
