The Fountain Group is a national staffing firm and we are currently seeking an Animal Care Technician I for a prominent client of ours. This position is in Worcester, MA 01605. Details for the position are as follows:
Job Description:
- $21/hour (less than 3 years of experience)
- $26/hour (3 years of experience)
- Full-Time, Monday – Friday, 5:45AM – 2:15PM (possible chance for OT).
- Responsible for the husbandry care for the animals (mice and rats, sometimes rabbits).
- Includes direct contact with animals providing husbandry and cage changing.
- Cleans cages using cage wash machinery and prepares feed and bedding for the technicians.
- Maintains cage wash equipment: tunnel washer, rack washer & autoclave.
- Orders, receives, and autoclaves feed, bedding, and water.
- Cleans laundry & maintain laundry.
- Environmental monitoring on bottle filler, rack & tunnel washers
- Operates the hydro pack system.
- Learn and perform euthanasia methods such as CO2 and exsanguination.
- Other duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent and one year experience in laboratory animal field; or AS/BS degree.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Able to perform repetitive procedures.
- Must be adaptable and flexible to meet the demands of an ever-changing work environment.
- Understands and acts on detailed instructions.
- Able to lift 40 pound bags of food-with help if needed.
Salary : $21 - $26
