The Fountain Group is currently seeking a Controls Engineer for a prominent client of ours. This position is located in Wilmington, NC. Details for the position are as follows :
Job Description :
45-$52 / HR
12-month assignment (with potential to extend or convert based on performance and budget).
Main responsibilities include :
Work with other team members to manage, modify, and develop computer systems required to manufacture optical fiber.
Assist team of engineers to provide production support and troubleshooting for 24 / 7 manufacturing operation. Work with production associates, technicians, and engineers to ensure reliable equipment operation via automated control systems and user interfaces.
Support process and product optimization / improvement efforts.
Provide training for engineers and / or production associates as needed for new processes, equipment, or control systems.
Participate in capital projects.
Some after hours, on-call support may be needed.
8am-5pm M-F 100% Onsite
Qualifications :
Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science and 2-3 years' experience; OR HS Diploma with equivalent experience (5 years exp).
Must have Knowledge in computer and PLC programming skills such as : VB, .net, C, Realtime systems or similar.
Preferred Skills :
Ability / experience integrating computers into manufacturing processes to increase efficiency and lower cost
MS Windows, iFIX, EthernetIP I / O, Microsoft Office. Real time controls systems, experience with motion systems (desired but not required), SCADA, Twincat
Experience in production support in a manufacturing environment
Problem-solving and debugging skills; ability to understand real needs behind operations and engineering requests
Ability / experience troubleshooting simple low voltage electrical circuitry
