The Fountain Group has an immediate opening for an Electrical Technician to join a prominent client of ours in Corning, NY. The Electrical Technician will provide testing and maintenance support for the Sullivan Park Life Safety Network which includes fire alarms, hazardous gas detection and facility critical alarm points. The Electrical Technician is a hands-on role with significant field work and Trades/Customer interface.

Position Information:

· Shift 1st Shift: Mon - Fri (7:00am – 4:00pm)

· Weekly On-Call Rotation shared with present staff of individuals.

· 12 - month Open Ended assignment with potential for extension based on performance and budget

Description:

· Testing includes challenging smoke detectors, heat detectors, activating pull boxes, challenging gas sensors, and confirming appropriate engineering controls.

· Maintenance activities include calibration/verification/exchange of various types of hazardous gas monitoring equipment throughout Sullivan Park laboratories.

· Physical activities include walking throughout Sullivan Park and the use of testing equipment.

· Coordination with Security, Lab Personnel and Emergency Services is a must.

· Technicians must disable alarm points/panels and detection points for Hot Work Permits.

· The technician is responsible for documenting all points which are tested and/or calibrated.

· System level maintenance & troubleshooting and Trades support with corrective action follow-through are required.

· Ability to assess system gaps and develop/implement plans for closure.

· Capable of reading electrical schematics and panel layouts.

Qualifications:

· High School Diploma/GED with 1 Years of Industry Experience, or Recent Associate or Bachelor graduate with a Discipline in Electronics/Electrical Systems2 Year degree, or equivalent knowledge/experience in electrical maintenance is required!

· Experience with multi-meters and troubleshooting circuits is required!

· Familiarity with electrical & pneumatic control systems, building controls interface and a general background in emergency response protocols is required!

· Basic understanding in control systems engineering, installation and integration of fire alarm systems, gas detectors, laboratory safety requirements required!

· Hands-on system expert with significant fieldwork in fire protection systems and Hazardous Gas Monitoring Systems is preferred!

· Familiar with NY or IBC/IFC Codes and NFPA and the ability to understand and interpret codes preferred!

· The ability to obtain and analyze data to confirm system operations and assist in system level troubleshooting is preferred!
