Entry Level Laboratory Technician

Details:

• Pay for this position is 20.00 to 23.00 hourly depending on experience.
• This position is a 6 month assignment with the possibility of extension or conversion to permanent.
• Location: Carlsbad, CA

Requirements:

• Recent BS graduates in any Life Sciences field (no post grad experience needed) -or- an Associates grad with a minimum of 6 months to post grad lab experience from a GMP or GLP environment.
• Must have hands-on lab experience (can be academic).
• Experience with buffer/reagent prep, pH meters, and sterilization processes are a plus (not required).

Job Description:

• The Technician is part of an assembly team responsible for the manufacturing of specific chemistries used in the medical diagnostics field.
• This role is critical to the healthcare industry and is critical to allow doctors and lab technicians to quickly and accurately diagnose patients all over the world.
• We are looking for talented individuals with the ability to follow complex instructions, step by step procedures with a critical eye for detail and accuracy.
• They will be a team player but also able to work independently when required.
• Daily activities for this role include: Buffer/Reagent formulation including mixing, adjusting pH, testing on various equipment including but not limited to spectrophotometers and various Beckman instruments.
• Regular use of computer’s for routine tasks, data generation and analysis, time reporting, on line training, email, etc.).
• Calibration and regular maintenance of instrumentation.
