POSITION | Custom Picture Framer & Design Consultant
TYPE | Part-time (20 hours/week), starting preferably March 2025
PAY | Negotiable based on experience
LOCATION | Grand Haven, MI
STARTING | As soon as possible
We’re looking for a personable, inquisitive, and creative individual with a passion for art and eye for design. This person will be responsible for providing professional customer service and artistic guidance throughout the design and sales process. They will also prepare and assemble quality custom framing orders. Experience is a bonus, but eagerness to learn is even more important. We do not expect anyone to fulfill all qualifications listed below. We share it to reflect the diversity of backgrounds CPFs (including our own) can come from.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Consult with clients and clearly communicate around design components
- Utilize our POS and other computer systems for logging orders, and cutting frames
- Prepare custom framing orders: cutting mats, frames and/or glass, fitting artwork into ready-made frames, stretching canvas, etc.
- Handle a wide variety of artwork with appropriate care and safety measures
- Communicate and collaborate in a positive, team-oriented way
- Other miscellaneous duties as needed, or relative to the individual’s unique background
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous custom picture framing experience is desirable, though not required. Eagerness to learn and aptitude for design is even more important.
- Education or work experience in art and design, woodworking, art history, or other related fields
- Experience in sales or other customer-facing role
- Basic math skills
- Desire for an active workplace (e.g. standing at the design counter, handling artwork and frames, etc.)
