The Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation holds a rich and diverse collection of objects and archival material relating to Frank and Olgivanna Lloyd Wright, the Fellowship, and Taliesin and Taliesin West. The collections internship is a unique opportunity for graduate students in library science, museum studies, or a related field to spend two months living and working at Taliesin West, Frank Lloyd Wright’s desert laboratory inscribed to the UNESCO World Heritage List. The Collections Interns will be provided with an inspiring learning opportunity with a mix of projects in the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation Collections which includes cataloging, condition reporting, and inventorying. The diverse collections the interns will be working with include fine and decorative arts, books, periodicals, and special collections.
NOTE: this position is approximately 8 weeks in duration (estimated to be mid-June through mid-August 2025) and includes both onsite housing on the Taliesin West campus and a stipend of $14.70/hour for up to 30 hours of work weekly. This year’s program accommodates 2 internship participants for the season.
Essential Functions:
· A range of projects will be available for the Collections Interns to select based on interest in museums or libraries. Interns can select to stay on one track, or work on various projects in each field. Examples include:
o Cataloging art collection materials such as prints or drawings.
o Cataloging and withdrawing library materials.
o Assisting with the development of the new Rare Books collection.
o Preventative conservation such as cleaning objects and creating custom housing.
o Assisting with collection moves.
o Assisting with collections research.
o Working collaboratively with Collections and Foundation staff as projects and programs warrant.
· Collaborating with Collections department staff members including the Director, Registrar, Librarian, and other professionals under their guidance and within a learning environment.
- Interns may perform other work-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
- Enrollment in a graduate-level library, museum studies, art history, or related field; eligibility for university credit may exist depending on the academic internship requirements of the intern’s degree program (inquire for more details).
- Proficiency in basic computer operation, navigation of online web services and applications, and utilization of software programs including Microsoft Office within a Windows environment.
- Demonstrated high levels of motivation, capable of working in a high energy environment, a creative and flexible thinker, able to work independently and within a supportive team, demonstrate attention to detail, and have strong research and organizational skills.
- The successful candidate must be able to lift 40 pounds.

- An interest in the field of architecture and related disciplines, and the work of Frank Lloyd Wright overall.
