Job Summary:

The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating a forklift to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials in the warehouse area, while following regulatory requirements. This role requires attention to detail, strong mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to safety. May need to use computers, scanner, tablets, etc. for tracking and other job tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate Forklift: Safely operate a forklift to transport materials, including pallets, boxes, and other items, within the facility.
  • Inspect Equipment: Conduct daily inspections of the forklift to ensure it is in safe operating condition. Report any mechanical issues or damage to supervisors.
  • Load and Unload: Load and unload materials from trucks, trailers, or other vehicles using the forklift.
  • Store Materials: Accurately store materials in designated areas according to established procedures.
  • Maintain Inventory: Assist with inventory control by accurately documenting the movement of materials.
  • Follow Safety Procedures: Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Assist with Other Tasks: As needed, assist with other warehouse or manufacturing tasks, such as picking and packing orders.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid forklift operator license.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects.

Working Conditions:

  • Warehouse or manufacturing environment, which may be noisy, dusty, and have varying temperatures.
  • Standing, walking, and lifting for extended periods.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract, Temporary

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

  • Forklift Certification (Required)
