What are the responsibilities and job description for the Instructor Assistant (Part-Time) position at the Franklin County Board of Developmental Disabilities?
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists an Instructor in the supervision and training of infant, toddler and/or preschool age children in order to provide basic skill development in areas such as: self-care, gross and fine motor development, social emotional development, communication and cognitive skills; assists an Instructor in the organization and development of classroom arrangements, programs/materials and group activities inside and out of classroom (field trips, etc.)
Assists an Instructor in maintaining a classroom environment which is conducive for learning and free of health and safety hazards
Participates in staff training programs, reads professional literature and attends seminars, classes or workshops to enhance professional knowledge and skills in areas such as, but not limited to, behavior, mental and developmental disabilities and curriculum development
Attends to child's embarkation and disembarkation from transportation vehicles
Assists an Instructor in implementing daily lesson plans for assigned children in order to meet objectives as established on each child's Individual Educational Plan or IFSP
Assists an Instructor in the preparation and maintenance of written records and reports as required on, but not limited to, child attendance, program objectives, behavioral data and progress data for regular evaluations and for revision of Individual Educational Plans of IFSP
Performs as substitute for the Instructor in small group activities or in the Instructor's absence; Must be able to lift, carry, push/pull fifty pounds with frequent lifting and/or carrying of up to twenty-five pounds; must be able to lift physically handicapped and non-ambulatory individuals
Performs other related duties as assigned to include coordination and work with families; Attends and participates in staff meetings to obtain and provide information
