The Freedom Center, LLC is currently seeking PRN Staff Nurses for our inpatient Residential Treatment program located in Buckeystown, MD. We service residents from the Mid-Atlantic area and throughout the nation. The Freedom Center offers Outpatient Program (OP) through Residential treatment programs that treat individuals with various addiction types by offering a flexible and affordable solution while minimizing the disruption of daily life.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduated from an accredited college or university with a degree or diploma in Nursing.
- Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) with a current, active, and unencumbered Maryland license.
EXPERIENCE:
- A minimum of 1 years’ experience in a substance abuse/chemical dependency/psychiatric setting required, preferably in a detox and/or inpatient setting.
- A minimum of two (2) years experience in a nursing role.
- Behavioral Health or Mental Health Experience is a plus.
- Experience with KIPU EMR, preferred.
PAY: $42-$45/hour, varies with experience, with opportunities for overtime pay & holiday premium pay for working holidays.

SPECIFIC AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY TO POSITION:
- Assure completion of all documentation in EMR, to include admissions assessments, nursing narratives, orders, vitals, medication administration, discharge summaries, etc., in a professional and timely manner.
- Responsible for admission process, completing assessment, vitals, breathalyzer, skin checks, urinalysis, consents, etc. and documenting as indicated in the EMR.
- Inform clinical and operations staff of issues that require monitoring or potential side effects.
- Complete nursing shift report and follow up on previous nursing shift report directives and medical concerns communicated by clinical or support staff
- Transcribes Physician’s Orders and implements all medical protocols, as ordered.
- Administers medications as prescribed by provider.
- Assists with emergency situations and make immediate referrals
- Supports the policies, rules and regulations of the facility, and acts in compliance with federal, state and other regulatory bodies and agencies.
- Provide patient education in both individual and group settings, including education on new medications, medication changes, health problems and medical care, under the supervision and guidance of the Nursing Supervisor and Medical Director.
- Ability to provide routine nursing care under the supervision of the Medical Director and Nursing supervisor.
- Maintains the Confidential nature of all patient and facility activities.
- Maintains required Training & Continuing Education
- Maintains Standards of Ethical Conduct
- Meets with patients requesting to see the provider to determine the urgency of their medical needs and expedite treatment as required
- Effectively communicates concerns about patient health to the medical provider and follows up as necessary.
- Under the supervision of the Medical Director or Nursing Supervisor, assists in educating patients about health problems and medical care.
- Facilitates medication education for new patients and for all other patients starting new medications.
- Provides routine nursing care.
- Participate in regular department meetings.
- Facilitate Medical Groups as directed.
- Attends in-service education programs as assigned to learn new forms, procedures, developmental skills, etc.
- Functions well as a team member and contribute positively to the morale of staff
- Maintains up-to-date training in CPR, First Aid, Crisis Intervention, Infection Control, Fire Safety, and other areas mandated by organizational policies
- Communicates effectively with other staff members and demonstrates the ability to work as a team member
- Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability, responding positively to changing situations in the work setting.
- Demonstrates objectivity and maturity under stress.
- Performs other duties, as assigned within scope of practice.
Pay: $42.00 - $45.00 per hour
