Job Responsibilities
- Case Preparation: Assist attorneys in preparing for trials, hearings, and depositions, including organizing case files and exhibits.
- Legal Research: Conduct research on case law, statutes, and regulations to support case strategies.
- Discovery Process: Manage the discovery process, including organizing and reviewing documents, preparing responses to discovery requests, and coordinating depositions, mediations, calendaring, and sending reminders.
- Document Drafting: Prepare and review legal documents such as pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and subpoenas.
- Court Filings: Prepare and file documents with courts, ensuring compliance with all rules and deadlines.
- Case Management: Track case deadlines, court dates, and ensure that all tasks are completed on time.
- Document Management: Maintain and organize legal files, ensuring that documents are properly indexed and easily accessible.
Job Requirements
- Minimum of five years law firm civil litigation experience
- Strong understanding of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules, procedures, practices, etc.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
- Possess an adaptable and pleasant demeanor and readily adjust to changes in firm policies and procedures
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in a professional manner
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Punctuality and time management skills
- This role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
