SUMMARY
This position supports service activities within the restaurant and bar with primary responsibility for greeting guests; setting tables according to departmental specifications; checking regularly for guest needs; clearing soiled wares from dining tables and bar; refreshing tables,; cleaning and sanitizing tables/chairs and booths, supporting servers with delivering food orders to guests; assembling and delivering to go orders when necessary; and supporting bar service activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides positive guest recognition and relations through personal performance and attention to guest history, including familiarizing himself/herself with regular patrons and VIP guests.
- Greets and assists guests in a timely and professional manner, and according to standards and established service sequence.
- Slices breads and delivers bread/rolls and butter to tables according to standards and to established service sequence (when applicable).
- Responds to guest questions. Provides guest assistance, direction and information as needed. o Communicates guest requests to server when applicable.
- Monitors and observes guests’ dining experience in order to respond to additional needs or requests
- Cleans and polishes glassware, flatware, and equipment to required specifications. * Supports service staff with bussing dirty tables, cleaning floors, arranging and setting tables with silverware, glassware and china, assembling roll wraps, filling water glasses, and transporting food to guests.
- Supports bar staff with clearing soiled items; restocking ice, glassware, liquor, beer, wine and paper supplies during heavy business volumes and host staff with seating guests when necessary.
- Transports dirty dishes/glassware, etc. from dining room to kitchen and/or bar and places items into proper cleaning receptacles such as glass racks and silverware bins.
- Accurately assembles, fills, and delivers To Go orders when necessary.
- Ensures the cleanliness and organization of designated work areas. Stocks/replenishes an adequate supply of product and equipment based on expected business volumes and completes set up and break down duties to departmental standard.
- Complies with local, state, and national regulations pertaining to food quality, cleanliness and sanitation standards, and safety.
- Attends required meetings, pre-meal meetings and training sessions as assigned/scheduled.
- Assists with new employee training by positively reinforcing successful performance and providing respectful and encouraging instruction.
- Complies with the organization’s sustainability standards (when applicable).
- Complies with organizational policies and job standards. * Completes all other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Availability to work nights and weekends as needed.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time, walk, squat, and reach. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift or move up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 160 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

- Alcohol service certification.
