We have an exciting opening for a strategic Sanitation Manager is responsible for managing the sanitation programs at The Fresh Factory (including Organic, Gluten Free, multiple allergens, and Kosher). This role will be responsible for managing all sanitation crews across multiple shifts and sites and, be responsible for reviewing and improving on existing SSOPs, allergen controls, and other key sanitation responsibilities.

We are growing quickly, adding exciting new products, processes, and packaging capabilities.Location: On-site at Downer's Grove and Carol Stream, IL
Pay: $60,000-$95,000 plus up to 10% potential bonus
Schedule: The position will be mainly based on 3rd shift initially. As the team is developed it will become a 1st shift position

Key Accountabilities:
• Ensure that our products meet the company's standards and specifications
• Must understand and follow all company Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and Sanitation Operating Procedures (SSOPs)
• Food Safety and Quality Standard Requirements are being maintained daily
• Must understand and comply with the company Allergen, Food Defense, and HACCP policies
• Must communicate Food Safety, Environmental, and Equipment concerns
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with leadership
• Work with Supervision and Maintenance to maintain equipment and environment in good sanitary condition
• Perform all other work assigned duties as required by plant leadership Keep work area and machinery clean
• Must comply with all safety policies and procedures at all times
Requirements/Skills:
• Ensure the manufacturing plant is cleaned and in good standing for RTE food processing
• Ensure that sanitation employees are trained, and Master Sanitation Schedule is implemented
Maintain and improve on the quality, legality, and safety of each product and the processes used in their manufacture.
• Plan, coordinate, monitor, direct and continually improve all aspects of the sanitation function
• Lead the sanitation group to meet its cleaning responsibilities within available time schedules
• Ensure complete training of all employees for proper sanitation procedures as required
• Manage chemical usage and supply control programs for inventories, operational and cost efficiency
• Conduct full sanitation audits relating to procedures, quality, safety, and tear downs for compliance
• Monitor equipment for routine maintenance/repair for GMP compliance
• Maintain high food safety and quality standards in accordance with company SQF and HACCP programs
• Maintain the Organic, Non-GMO, Kosher, and Gluten Free programs
• Help ensure the plant is audit ready (SQF, Organic, FDA, and customer audits)
• Participate in regular Food Safety Team meetings
• Participate in HACCP reviews for new products
Qualifications:
- Strong communication and organization skills5 years of experience with sanitation in a food manufacturing facility
- 3 Years supervision experience in a sanitation role
- HACCP Certification preferred
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
- Ability to handle frequent interruptions, meet tight deadlines, prioritize tasks, and work with minimal direction
- Strong computer skills
- Must speak, read, and write English
- Must be able to speak fluent Spanish
