Position Overview:
Join our team at The Fresh Monkee as a Barista! In this role, you will be responsible for handcrafting and serving healthy shakes while delivering exceptional customer service. Your ability to prepare high-quality shakes combined with your friendly and engaging personality will enhance our guests' experience and contribute to the overall success of our business.
Job Type:
Part-time / Full-time (based on availability, operational hours, and shop needs)
Compensation:
Hourly compensation starting at $15 plus tips.

Key Responsibilities:
Preparation:
- Memorize and prepare over 30 shake recipes according to standard recipes and customer preferences.
- Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly portioned, and blended to perfection.
- Offer creative and appealing customization suggestions based on customer tastes and dietary preferences.
Customer Service:
- Welcome customers with a friendly and positive attitude, providing introductions to first-time visitors and assisting with menu inquiries.
- Engage with customers politely and knowledgeably, addressing questions about the menu and ingredients.
Cleanliness & Sanitation:
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, ensuring all equipment, blender canisters, and utensils are washed and sanitized regularly.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations and food handling procedures to ensure a safe and hygienic environment.
Upselling and Promotions:
- Recommend additional add-ons to enhance the customer experience and increase ticket sales.
- Promote our loyalty program by encouraging customers to sign up at checkout to foster customer retention.
- Stay informed about shake ingredients, nutritional information, and menu offerings to provide accurate information to customers.
- Continuously update your knowledge about new shake trends and popular ingredients.
Cash Handling and POS Operations:
- Process customer payments, handle cash transactions, and operate the point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Accurately count and record sales and revenue deposits.
Teamwork and Collaboration:
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations and timely service.
- Assist in maintaining inventory levels by notifying management of stock shortages or popular items.
- Be a team player and help cover last-minute shift shortages when possible.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous barista experience in a beverage setting is preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
- Basic math skills for cash handling and transaction processing.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to food handling and cleanliness.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.
- Flexible availability, with weekends being a must!
