JOB SUMMARY
The role of Carrier Operations Manager is to meet or exceed the service level expectations of our customers through the daily assignment of work to a team of carriers, manage spot buy, OEM contract and 2nd Market inventory, and work with third party carriers to optimize the company's network in order to grow profitability. The activities include, but are not limited to, managing carrier performance, dispatching carriers, inventory management and reconciliation, new carrier identification and on boarding, communication and planning with Third Party Carriers.
The primary responsibilities include the development of new strategies to properly manage the carrier network, developing rate strategies that support maximizing USAL Solutions profitability and revenue goals while providing a fair rate to carriers. As such, the daily task is to identify revenue opportunities and match carriers to the opportunity.
The Carrier Operations Manager has the responsibility to develop and maintain carrier scorecards and risk profiles.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Identify 2nd Market revenue opportunities, matching freight with carriers.
- Assign work to carriers, manage inventory levels in all locations, and optimize profitability on a daily basis.
- Manage the carrier base with a sense of ownership, providing a fair rate to produce long-term relationships that benefit both parties.
- Engage and collaborate with shared services and third party carriers to deliver value to the enterprise.
- Build trust with the carrier base making USAL Solutions the premier broker for carriers.
- Maintain alignment with our company core competencies and values
- Create and maintain carrier scorecards and risk profiles.
- Route and dispatch carriers, build loads, and optimize earning potential of USAL Solutions and the carriers.
- Collaborate with third party carriers to meet the enterprise KPI's.
- Responsibly receive, transmit, and handle consumer and customer data per applicable policies and procedures.
- Review and follow data privacy practices, policies, and guidelines.
- Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly manage outside carrier performance, onboarding and sun setting.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree preferred; Eight (8) to ten (10) years of work experience required, preferably with transportation or related industry. Three (3) to five (5) years of management experience required. Ideal candidate also has experience managing transportation drivers complying with DOT and FMCSR regulations.

The associate must frequently move up to 10 pounds and occasionally move up to 25 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While the job is generally performed in an office environment, the associate is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, areas in which moving mechanical parts, fumes, toxic or caustic chemicals are present, and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the office environment is typically quiet, but the associate may be occasionally exposed to loud noise levels.

Some travel is required for this position, up to 50%.

Salary : $78,600 - $99,500
