A Day In The Life
The Project Manager under the leadership of the Vice President of Product, Risk and Underwriting, is involved in all phases of GSFSGroup product project initiative from obtaining requirements, training, and project scope. A Project Manager will 1) Define and prioritize enterprise product project requirements, 2) Develop time estimates and project plans, 3) Develop, monitor and coordinate project activities, such as scheduling, tracking and reporting, 4) Ensure a clear understanding of business requirements, 5) Coordinate and support the project team, 6) Communicate with customers and outside partners to ensure priorities are handled properly, and 6) Support and help advance the enterprise project management process. 7) Effective use of project management software tools to manage and track multiple project portfolios. The Project Manager will take action to enhance cross-functional coordination and expand internal and external communications within GSFS, TFG, GST and outside entities to manage the project team resources.

As a Project Manager - Product you will:
- Project Initiation: Lead and manage project team resources by providing direction, oversight, and coaching. Confirm/understand justifiable reason(s) to begin/continue project to ensure alignment with objectives/benefits. Understand / articulate the objectives/scope/approach of entire project. Question/escalate where appropriate. Identify/clarify and gain buy in to project team roles/responsibilities. What is expected of team. Create and execute project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet current/changing needs/requirements. Tailor the project/methodology to project/enterprise environment, size, complexity, importance, capabilities, and risk.
- Project Management: Manage multiple projects at a time successfully. Ability to multi-task between various projects. Effectively communicate relevant project information to supervisor and customers. Understand how to communicate difficult/sensitive information in a timely and tactful manner. Manage projects by stages (where possible) to ensure monitored/controlled to ensure expectations/value. Hold project team resources and customer accountable to “agreed to” project plan. Review / evaluate team deliverables before passing to customer(s). Ensure documents are complete and stored appropriately. Constantly evaluate project, timeline, and results to ensure project is accountable to expectations. Ensure project execution meets stage/gate goals so that each stage is tracking to the expected outcome and delivery date. Keep project team well informed of any changes, executive/customer feedback, and general corporate news. Effectively and efficiently track/resolve problems/challenges associated with the project and escalate when necessary. Identify, track and minimize exposure and risk on project. Ensure risk mitigation plans are “fit for purpose” and in place. Conduct regular/active meetings with team to monitor progress and ensure successful outcomes.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and document “additional” improvement opportunities. Keep track of lessons learned and share with team. Actively identify/record/learn/act based on previous experience(s) to improve process/results/cycle time / etc.
- Customer Relationship Mgmt Develop and maintain strong relationships with key Business Unit associates and decision makers Manage day-to-day customer interaction. Set and manage customer expectations. Responsible for proactive communications to customer and for customer satisfaction, including supplier performance monitoring/reporting
What We Need From You
- Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university (degrees in Business and/or Finance/Mathmatics will be given preference) Req
- 4-6 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience Required
- 1-3 years Project Management experience Required
- Experience with projects of moderate to high complexity and in multiple technologies and functions Required
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the systems development life cycle and PM life cycle.
- Ability to apply common sense.

- Proficient in project planning and life cycle development.
