A Day In The Life
The Driver Trainer is a vital role within USAL's Training Department, directly contributing to the development, safety, and operational success of our driving team. Reporting to the Manager, Driver Training, the Driver Trainer ensures that all drivers are thoroughly trained, evaluated, and coached to uphold USAL's high standards of safety, compliance, and operational excellence. This role incorporates multifaceted responsibilities as both a driver trainer and an adult education instructor. It involves designing, developing, and delivering comprehensive training programs for drivers using adult learning principles and best practices. The Driver Trainer ensures all trainees, regardless of their learning styles or prior experiences, achieve a high level of competency and confidence. By leveraging data-driven insights, technology, and collaborative strategies, this role fosters a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.

Physical and Environmental Requirements The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly and repeatedly required to talk; hear; stand; walk; stoop; kneel / squat, climb, use hands and fingers, to handle, grip / squeeze and / or feel; push / pull and reach with hands and arms. The associate will be frequently required to balance; crouch, or crawl; reach over-head and taste or smell. The associate must frequently lift and / or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, night vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Travel Requirements
20% Periodic domestic travel to other terminals, OEM's, etc.
