The Facilities Technician is responsible for the upkeep, maintenance, and repairs of The Front's Salt Lake and South Main locations. Working closely with the General Managers and Gym Staff, this role ensures that gym facilities remain safe, clean, and fully operational. The Facilities Technician must be proactive, adaptable, and skilled in general maintenance tasks, including plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, and fitness equipment repair. This position is hands-on and requires strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a high-functioning environment for members and staff.
Key Duties & Responsibilities / /
- Perform maintenance and repairs across all gym systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, IT, and security.
- Conduct routine inspections and address facility issues proactively.
- Maintain and service gym equipment, including fitness machines, evaporative coolers, heaters, and laundry equipment.
- Assist with seasonal duties such as winterizing, temperature control, and snow removal.
- Maintain and improve a structured maintenance schedule using company tools.
- Support contractors, vendors, and volunteers with maintenance projects and special events .
- Follow and document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for repairs and maintenance.
- Keep organized records of maintenance work, inspections, and inventory.
- Work cross-functionally to ensure a positive and efficient member experience.

This position operates in a dynamic gym setting, requiring frequent movement, including walking, standing, climbing ladders, and lifting heavy objects. Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, with exposure to varying temperatures, dust, cleaning chemicals, and noise from gym equipment and patrons. The role involves handling tools, machinery, and maintenance supplies to perform repairs, troubleshoot equipment, and ensure overall facility cleanliness and safety. Shifts may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and on-call responsibilities to address urgent maintenance needs.
