In this role, you will work closely with exceptional students with behavioral challenges, implementing therapeutic interventions and supporting their development. Your expertise in behavioral therapy and / or special education will be crucial in fostering a positive environment for our clients.
Job Summary: The Behavioral Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting students with behavioral difficulties and promoting a positive school environment. This position involves leading a team of staff, providing guidance on behavior management strategies, and working collaboratively with teachers, educational staff, and external school districts to improve student outcomes. The coordinator will implement data-driven practices and facilitate training sessions, ensuring staff are well-equipped to address complex behaviors effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and mentor educational staff in managing complex behaviors through effective strategies and interventions.
- Provide guidance and resources to teachers and staff, supporting them in best practices for behavior management.
- Set clear expectations for staff behavior management and facilitate ongoing training sessions.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with placing school districts and the internal behavioral team to assess student needs and develop tailored interventions.
- Communicate effectively with families and caregivers regarding student progress and behavioral strategies.
Data Collection and Analysis:
- Collect and analyze behavioral data to assist in educational planning and monitor student progress.
- Use data to inform decision-making for individual student educational plans and to enhance overall program effectiveness.
Direct Student Support:
- Provide direct support to students exhibiting challenging behaviors, implementing individualized strategies and interventions.
- Facilitate crisis management techniques as needed, ensuring student safety and well-being.
Professional Development:
- Lead staff training and workshops focused on behavior management, ADHD strategies, and related topics.
- Stay updated on best practices in behavior analysis and educational support.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in psychology, education, social work, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children with complex behaviors; experience in leadership or supervisory roles is a plus.
- Previous experience or coursework in behavioral health, special education, or related fields is preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of behavior management principles and techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Experience with data collection and analysis in an educational setting.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00 - $31.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
