Job Title: Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) / Van Driver - Hybrid
Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated individual to fill a unique hybrid role that combines the responsibilities of a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) and a Van Driver for school transportation. This position involves ensuring the safe transportation of students to and from school while also providing behavioral support to students with challenges during transit and on campus and in the community.
Key Responsibilities:
Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Duties:
- Provide direct behavioral support to students with challenges during transportation and on campus.
- Implement individualized behavior plans and crisis management strategies as needed.
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support student progress.
- Collect and analyze behavioral data to inform interventions and improve outcomes.
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment for all students.
Van Driver Duties:
- Safely transport students to and from school, following all traffic laws and school policies.
- Perform pre-trip vehicle inspections and maintain a clean, organized van.
- Supervise students during transit, ensuring proper seatbelt use and managing behavior.
- Communicate with parents, school staff, and transportation teams regarding schedules or issues.
- Handle emergencies calmly and follow established protocols.
Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Current Arizona Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification.
- Ability to pass background checks, drug screening, and obtain an IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
- CPR & First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 21 days of hire).
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working with children, especially those with disabilities or behavioral challenges, is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for extended periods and assist students as needed.
- Maintain alertness and focus during long drives.
- Lift and assist children when necessary.
